Could you show your stripes and be a World Scout Jamboree Unit Leader?

Extended Deadline – Sunday 10 October 2021

We’re so excited that Cornwall has been allocated 4 patrols to become part of the UK Contingent to the 25 World Scout Jamboree in Korea during 2023.

That means we need to recruit 4 adult volunteers to become the Unit Leadership Team who make sure that our 36 young people will be empowered to be bold and brave to make the most of the life-shaping experience the World Scout Jamboree will provide.

You could make the difference for someone like Chantelle Down, who attended the last World Scout Jamboree in North America.

“Massive thanks to Neil, Charlie and Chantelle. Thank you for supporting us to have this most amazing experience. Thank you for challenging us and for giving me confidence that I did not know I had.”

We’re supporting the UK Contingent’s vision to be the most inclusive UK Contingent to attend a World Scout Jamboree. There should be no unnecessary barriers to anyone becoming part of our Unit Leadership Team.

  • Never been to a Jamboree before? – that’s OK!
  • Not an Explorer Scout Leader? – absolutely no problem
  • Never been on a plane? – step forward tiger!

The UK Contingent is not shying away from challenging the perceptions of who an adult jamboree volunteer is, so if you’re prepared to Think big. Dream wild and Act together why not leap at the opportunity to apply to join our team?

This is an adult role, and considering prior experience, the UK Contingent advise Unit Leaders, Deputies and Assistant should be at least 18 years old by 1 January 2022.

Considering it?

We would welcome you to join us for a morning at Drummers Lodge campsite on Sunday 3rd October if you would like to find out more.

The morning starts at 0930 and finish at around 1230 and will include information from UK Contingent, past Cornish WSJ leaders and young people who attended the 24th WSJ in the USA. All talking about their experiences and what it really means to be a part of the WSJ experience. There will also be an opportunity for questions should you have any.
Tea and biscuits will be provided and there will be an opportunity to chat with previous leaders and young people.

Applications are open until Midnight Sunday 10 October 2021 for candidates interested in these roles:
